## What happened

Our AI agents open a lot of code changes. Every comment, review and check on an open change sent its own email.

Over Nov 1 to 2, the owner's business inbox got about 350 GitHub emails in 7 hours, and the mail that mattered got buried.

The flood also pushed our email connection over its daily call limit.

What we tried first:
- Filtering the mail after it landed. Batch labels were out.
- Muting each code repository ("Ignore" in GitHub's watch settings). That would have silenced the web and phone alerts too, and the owner hadn't agreed to that.

## What we did

1. In GitHub, open Settings, then Notifications.
2. Turn email delivery off. Leave web notifications on.
3. Security alert emails have their own setting and can stay on.

## How we know it worked

A second person read the inbox afterward. The last GitHub email came in a few minutes before the change, and none came after it. The email connection's call count dropped back under its limit.

## What you can take from it

When AI agents open code changes all day, GitHub email grows with them. Filtering after the fact can't keep up. Turn email off in GitHub's own settings and keep the web alerts.
